Apple Butter

I’m thankful my kids like apple butter as much as I do so I have an excuse to make this often. It is fun to experiment with different spices and different apples.

This is another recipe really for me to reference- it is a bit loose. 🫣

  • Fill up the Instant Pot with unpeeled chopped apples
  • 1/2 Water (add if pressure cooking, otherwise omit)
  • 1 – 1.5 Cup brown sugar (depending on how sweet the apples are)
  • Vanilla- slash
  • Cinnamon (about a TBSP)
  • Ground Cloves (about 1/2 tsp)
  • Ground Cardamon (about 1/2 tsp)
  • Whatever other spices- ginger, all spice,
  • Orange zest and juice (optional)

Slow Cook or Pressure Cook:

  • Slow Cook on low for 12 hours or Pressure Cook for 7 minutes (and let slow release)
  • Remove apples and blend until smooth in the Vitamix (result is way better than immersion blender)
  • Add back and slow cook for another 2 hours
