The BEST Vegan Ribs
This recipe was originally created by Vegan King’zz and there are renditions all over. We’ve been making it for a while now and have adjusted it to our preference. It is our absolute favourite.
Vegan Ribs
Ingredients
- 2 Cans Jackfruit or Heart of Palm or Artichoke Hearts
- 1 Package Vegan Meat- Beyond or Impossible 340 g
- 3/4 Cup BBQ Sauce
- 1 White Onion Chopped
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Liquid Smoke
- 1 tsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Mustard Powder
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the jackfruit and chopping it roughly.
- Mix the ingredients well (reserve a bit of BBQ sauce) and dump onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Press into a large oval shape and press a knife down- not all the way through, to make 'Ribs'. Brush on remaining BBQ sauce.
- Bake at 375 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Notes
We like to make it with baked potatoes (as we just toss them in the oven while the ribs are cooking) and baked beans- as they take about the same amount of time (in the instant pot).
